Driving Real Impact at New York Climate Week

As New York Climate Week (NYCW) approaches, our #OGPanda Andrea Hartley has reflects on the next big convening opportunity.

With this year’s theme, It’s Time, we have a clear message: the urgency of climate action is undeniable. The world is feeling the impact of climate change and, while investment in clean energy is growing, we’re not moving fast enough.

NYCW brings together leaders from business, government, tech, and civil society, creating the perfect space to push forward on critical actions. But convening alone isn’t enough—it’s time to make real progress by committing to and then delivering on concrete steps. We need to stop talking in circles and start focusing on the How as much as the What:

  • What needs to happen?
  • Who should be involved?
  • How do we get there?
  • What are the key milestones and how do we hold each other to account?

Every conversation at NYCW could lead to a tangible commitment on which you can be held to account.

Executives often complain about being over-convened and call up Skating Panda to ask for our help navigating the convening soup and sustainability choices. NYCW provides a flagship opportunity to change the way convening is experienced and its outcomes – whether you are an in-person or a virtual participant. Start by asking about the What and the How – what needs to happen and when, and who is responsible for what? It’s crucial to allocate roles, responsibilities and deadlines, stop delaying action and start implementing – 2030 is nearing and we’re running out of time.

Skating Panda is determined to play a pivotal part in NYCW, so let’s ensure together this opportunity leads to unstoppable progress. The time to act is now, so every conversation counts for something.

Regardless of whether you’re at NYCW or not, if you’d like help actioning your strategy, get in touch at info@skatingpanda.com. We are well-equipped to help you create and then focus your goals into a tangible action plan.

It’s Time to act, and act together with focus.
